The Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design is very pleased to host a truly amazing exhibition of works by students of Allison Bernard Memorial High School in Eskasoni. The exhibit will be on display at the Center until Saturday June 25th.
The students’ works are mainly made up of Native art and are inspiring both in their themes and degree of passion and skill. Art teacher Ron Martin wanted the students to create works of art that were reflective of how the students saw themselves as First Nations people.
“I was completely amazed and in awe of the talent of my students and the passion in which they approached this project.”
The students themselves expressed that this project became a labour of love and that they never felt more proud to be First Nations.
