We are looking for interested community members to be part of “community asset building teams” beginning around Aug. 15th in the following communities:
- Glace Bay (Monday evenings)
- New Waterford (evening TBA)
- Sydney Mines (Wednesday evenings)
- North Sydney (Tuesday evenings)
We require between 10 to 15 team members at each site. Our goal is to have at least 50% of these teams be made up of youth between the ages of 12 and 18. The teams will meet from approximately 6:30 to 8:30 pm one evening a week initially, and then twice monthly.
Volunteers will be trained in asset development and will then explore their community’s needs and strengths and design an asset-based community project.
